M.A.P: Ministry Action Plan

A map is a definite plan or schematic; but be prepared to make a detour.

A MAP is purposeful, responsive, gospel centered, alive, replenishing, open communication.  It can change, be spiritual, scripture literate, youth focused, and communal.  It is witnessing, unified, loving, faithful, and is connected.

The Vision of the Florence District Board of Congregational Development:

To be a loving, caring community of vital churches that are experiencing openness to the gospel and each other, and come together to strengthen fellowship, and to engage in ministry that is faithful to the gospel and involved in mission that is local and global.

The Mission of the District Board:

To strengthen the ministry of the local churches of the Florence District by providing education, encouragement, and opportunities for creative ministries.

The Goals of the District Board:

• Develop a system of recognition
• Provide annual Visioning training
• To assess the need of churches through statistical analysis, interviews, and surveys
• To incorporate into each meeting of the board, a time of reflective Scripture study, and discernment aimed at maintaining our focus on the Vision and Mission.
• To inform the local churches of the demographic and other vital information and the implications for the churches.
• To share models of church growth and vitality through written communications, gatherings, etc.
